Outpatient Treatment Facilities

Outpatient treatment services are defined as either outpatient or intensive outpatient based on the intensity of the services provided by the particular outpatient program.  See definitions below, by type:

  • Outpatient Treatment (Non-Intensive):
Treatment/recovery/aftercare or rehabilitation services are provided, but the client does not reside in a treatment facility. The client receives alcohol and/or drug abuse treatment services with or without medication, including counseling and supportive services.
  • Intensive Outpatient Treatment/Day & Evening:
Services provided to a client that last three or more hours per day for three or more days per week.  A minimum of 9 treatment hours per week must be provided.
